Service Update Released For Cadillac Escalade V8 Valve Lifter Issues

Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, has released a service update to address possible valve lifter issues in the 2021 Cadillac Escalades equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine (production code L87).

The problem: affected vehicles may have, or may potentially experience, a broken valve lifter lock pin spring.

The hazards: a broken valve lifter lock pin spring does not pose an immediate safety risk to vehicle occupants. However, the condition could lead to various engine problems. • 2021 Cadillac Escalade ESV with 6.2L V8 engine (production code L87)
