The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, the most powerful Cadillac ever made, laid down a blistering lap at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, setting a track record for fastest production sedan at the circuit.

Amna Al Qubaisi, a rising Emirati racing star with accomplishments in Formula 4 and Formula 3 circuits, piloted the CT5-V Blackwing around the track to its record-shattering time, charging around the track in just 2:20:98.

“The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is a beast on the track,” she said. “Between the balance, the power and transmission, it’s an absolute joy to drive. The driver feedback is second-to-none, and the harder you press it, the more it rewards you.”

Al Quibaisi was invited to show off what the CT5-V Blackwing could do as part of the luxury marque’s special introduction of the Cadillac V-Series Blackwing super sedans to the Middle East.

“It was a pleasure for me to be able to set a new record at YMC with the Blackwing,” Al Quibaisi said.

“There was only one way to launch the V-Series Blackwing in the Middle East, and that was by uniting two racing icons on the track for this extraordinary and unforgettable moment,” said Kristian Aquilina, Managing Director, Cadillac International Operations and Cadillac Middle East.

The supercharged 6.2L V8 (production code LT4) resides under the hood of all CT5-V Blackwing models, delivering power exclusively to the rear wheels via the standard 6-speed manual transmission. It’s capable of throwing 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque,  via either the standard six-speed manual transmission or optional 10-speed automatic. Power is transferred exclusively to the rear wheels.

The first production Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing super sedan rolled off the assembly line at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan in July of 2021. Buyers of the first 250 units to be produced were given a special gift to commemorate their Collector’s Edition vehicle
