2026 Cadillac Lyriq Offers An Augmented Reality Head-Up Display

The 2026 Cadillac Lyriq sees the addition of the luxury marque’s Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD) technology. This is more than an upgrade, since the 2025 Lyriq didn’t offer a HUD of any kind.

Specifically, the AR HUD – a first for the Lyriq – is a standard feature on the range-topping Signature Luxury and Signature Sport models as well as the Lyriq-V. For reference, pricing for 2026 Lyriq Signature Luxury and Signature Sport models start at $69,295 and $69,795, respectively, while the Lyriq-V has a base price of $80,090.

The AR HUD utilized by Cadillac is a dual-pane system, meaning that it’s capable of displaying information in a way that appears closer or further away. In the image above, we can see the AR HUD displaying the vehicle speed (15 mph) while the lane designations appear as if they were further away or on the road itself. The idea behind this approach is that it provides drivers with enhanced situational information and awareness while keeping their eyes on the road. That means drivers don’t need to constantly look down at the navigation screen in order to figure out what lane they should be in, which is especially convenient when traveling in unfamiliar areas.

By displaying the most important information closer to the driver, the system avoids putting the human eye under unnecessary duress, as explained in a scholarly article authored by Chengxiang Fan, Lingbao Kong, Bo Yang (no, not the guy from Saturday Night Live), and Xinjun Wan. “Basic safety information that does not need to overlap with the real world is displayed at a closer VID (virtual image distance), which is in line with the visual property that the human eye’s focus position will naturally move back and forth as the vehicle speed changes.”

Notably, the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq won’t be the only nameplate to offer the AR HUD feature. This very same display will also be standard on 2026 Cadillac Vistiq Premium Luxury and Platinum models. Pricing for these models start at $93,290 and $90,890 respectively.

As a reminder, both the Lyriq and the Vistiq are built at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for all markets except for China, where the models are produced at a local plant.
