Production of the Cadillac XT6 was initially scheduled to end on November 26th. However, things at the Spring Hill assembly plant will be changed up sooner than expected, with the final unit of the three-row luxury crossover now set to be built on November 7th, 2025 – almost three weeks earlier than originally planned.
Once that date comes, the XT6 will be discontinued in the U.S. market, along with the XT4. The XT5 was also headed for the graveyard, however, a very recent development has yielded plans to build and sell second-generation XT5 Stateside.
If it weren’t for changes made by the Trump administration regarding EV tax credits and other policies that would incentivize automakers to aggressively pursue a transition to electrification, chances are the XT5 wouldn’t have received this second wind. It’s possible for the XT6 to also receive this merciful treatment, but we haven’t heard of Cadillac planning any updates to the XT6 as of this writing.
Meanwhile, Cadillac’s latest battery electric models are experiencing record-setting growth in sales. Building on that momentum is the arrival of the XT6’s indirect replacement, the Vistiq. Although larger, the three-row crossover EV occupies a similar market space, slotting between the Escalade IQ and Lyriq, which will eventually serve as indirect replacements to the Escalade and XT5, respectively.

There are very few large luxury vehicles from imports that can compete against the Cadillac Vistiq in price, performance, and features. Cadillac has a winner.

This is very bad news!!! The Cadillac XT6 is an excellent car/SUV/CUV. Call it what you like, but its very good looking, roomy and comfortable and get’s great mileage. I have a 2024 Lux Prem, Platinum with captains chairs in the second row. I love it and would definitely lease another when my lease is up next year, but if the XT6 is no longer available I’ll be forced to change brands, after more than 45 years of Cadillac loyalty, or just buy my car out of the lease and keep it forever. Either way Cadillac looses future sales and a loyal customer.

If GM had a brain, they would bring back the CT6, imported from china so many cadillac customers could purchase a new large sedan…..They could even bring back the hybrid CT6 as it was a great car, but cadillac never
marketed well any of the CT6 models.

I’m with you, I’ll be switching SUV’s after having the XT6. Great SUV. I hope they bring the Chinese version back to be built like the XT5.

Very disappointing. We really enjoy our xt6 Sport, in fact it is my wife’s favorite vehicle of all time. And, she is not a “motor head
Very disappointing. We really enjoy our xt6 Sport. It is my wife’s all time favorite vehicle, and she is not a “motor head”! We’ve owned an xt5 and liked it, but the 3 rows of seating and extra room better fits our needs. EV is out of the question. there is insufficient infrasrtucture out there to support our driving needs. Besides, pulling up to a pump and filling up is the best. I remember the refuel lines of decades ago! Hopefully other manufacturers will continue ICE vehicles for the future!

Cadillac kills what sells and then cries about slow sales.
GM has no brains…….look at Mary Bara…..Prime Example.
Don’t mess with Success………Sell it as long as the public
wants it and will buy it. Just a Reminder to Mary Bara and
the GM Brainless……NOBODY IS BAILING OUT ANYONE ANY MORE.
Capisce !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is it going to take to make Cadillac management realize that their dream of a full-EV lineup is a fantasy? Your buyers, or at least many of them, see things differently and want ICE choices as well.
The proposed cancellation of the XT-5 is a great example. The Lyriq was its intended replacement, though it’s much larger and more costly. I, and I’m sure others, bought an XT-5 to avoid having to buy a Lyriq.

Count me as another loyal Cadillac buyers sure to not return to Cadillac for an EV only line-up! Bringing the next generation CT6 offered in China back to production here would sell even better than the announced next-generation XT5 (as introduced in China.) Cadillac has suffered from many poor business decisions by Mary Barra, et al. There should probably be replacement of many on the GM Board of Directors, too, who have participated in decline of a great American luxury brand.
