Cadillac is earning the most conquest sales from Tesla, Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, and BMW. This metric, revealed by Cadillac President John Roth during a briefing attended by Cadillac Society, pertains to both gasoline- and battery-powered vehicles, and underscores some rather significant business feats for the luxury marque.
Aside from garnering sales from its primarily competitors, total Cadillac sales increased 15 percent during the second quarter of 2025 for its best Q2 since 2007. Additionally, Cadillac sales grew 17 percent during the first half of 2025, representing the best first-half sales performance since 2008. Impressively, retail Cadillac sales were up in all 50 U.S. states, increasing over 25 percent in 26 states during the first half of the year.
That’s not all – total Cadillac Q2 sales were the best since 2017. These are worthwhile accomplishments given the current state of affairs, which sees consumer confidence at a relatively low point. It’s especially important, too, as the automaker is currently in the midst of shifting its entire product portfolio. Most recently, though, the marque has decided to pivot from its original target of transitioning to a fully electric lineup by 2030.
In terms of vehicles with a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE), Cadillac will still offer the following vehicles for the 2026 model year:
There is, however, a degree of uncertainty regarding the future of the XT5. Cadillac Society previously reported that the Cadillac XT5 and XT6 would not be offered for the 2026 model year in the U.S. market. The news came shortly after the confirmed discontinuation of the smaller XT4. However, it now seems that the luxury marque is changing its plans, as it could continue producing the vehicle at its Spring Hill plant alongside the Lyriq and Vistiq. For reference, the Lyriq is an indirect replacement to the XT5 while the Vistiq is an indirect successor to the three-row XT6.
When it comes to battery-electric models, Cadillac will offer the following nameplates for the 2026 model year:
The Optiq-V and Lyriq-V are newcomers for 2026, and represent the automaker’s first V-branded EVs.
Only 26 units of the 685-horsepower sedan will be built.
U.S. production of the crossover ended in January of 2025.
