The 2025 Cadillac Escalade will be offered with a matte paint color – the first time in the history of the Escalade nameplate, Cadillac Society has learned.
While the luxury marque is keeping details close to the vest, we anticipate a limited-production run for the color, meaning there won’t be many units of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade featuring it.
Cadillac has sporadically offered matte paint colors throughout its history. It briefly offered Dark Emerald Frost (paint code G7W) on the 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing luxury super sedans. This color was the priciest option on the Blackwing color palette, adding a cool $3,925 to the overall cost of the ultra-high-performance sedans.
More recently, the Blackwings got another exclusive matte color known as Maverick Noir Frost (paint code GNW) for the 2023 model year, which added a whopping $8,120 to the price of the CT5-V Blackwing. The color was limited to the CT4-V Blackwing Sebring IMSA Edition for the 2023 CT4-V Blackwing.
Since then, a Cadillac Celestiq show car painted in a purplish red matte hue titled Boysenberry Matte was on display at the 2023 Audrain Newport Concours and Motor Week in Rhode Island.
Looking beyond Cadillac at the greater GM product portfolio, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV also received a limited matte color known as Neptune Blue Matte, which is offered exclusively as part of the Omega Edition package for the electric SUV.
As a reminder, the 2025 Escalade brings a welcome refresh to the full-size luxury SUV. This includes a reworked front fascia with all-new lighting elements and an overhauled interior featuring a coast-to-coast interior display screen. Production of the forthcoming Escalade will kick off on October 7th, 2024, at the Cadillac Arlington plant in Texas.
