Cadillac has issued a stop-sale order for certain units of the 2023 and 2024 Cadillac Lyriq luxury electric crossovers due to an issue with the vehicles’ software to hardware integration.
The total number of units affected by this issue is still being assessed at the time of this writing, and dealers have not yet received a service bulletin.
As a reminder, a stop-sale order is put in place so that units of the Cadillac Lyriq currently in dealer possession are fixed before they are delivered to their buyers. However, that means that affected vehicles may already be in the hands of owners, meaning they will likely need to return to be updated with a fix once it’s released.
The software to hardware integration issue is the latest problem to affect units of the Cadillac Lyriq since the luxury electric crossover launched for the 2023 model year. In fact, quite a few units of the Lyriq were placed on quality hold before they were shipped to dealers so that luxury marque could address issues such as cracked liftgate panel and fledgeling issues with the 33-inch curved instrument panel display.
Some time later, some units were affected by an issue with their interior storage tray that needed to be replaced, and Cadillac also issued a fix to address problems with a potential twisted AC hose. More recently, the luxury marque released a solution to a problem with the luxury electric crossover’s headlamps, which were fixed via a software update.
