Here’s When 2025 Cadillac CT5-V, CT5-V Blackwing Production Is Scheduled To Start

The refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 range brings with it a slew of updates and changes for the luxury sedan, and that means that the high-performance CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing are also in for a significant refresh. Production of “regular” CT5 models has already begun at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan, but its high-performance counterparts have yet to start rolling off the assembly line. That will soon change, though, as Cadillac Society has learned that production of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing is scheduled to commence in just a few weeks.

According to sources familiar with the matter, assembly of the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing will kick off on July 15th, 2024. As usual, please keep in mind that this date is tentative and subject to change at any time. Meanwhile, interested customers should note that the order books for the potent CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing will open on May 16th.

As for what’s new for the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing, both high-performance luxury sedans feature reworked grilles and front fascias. A new set of headlights, arranged in a stacked pattern with an uninterrupted vertical lighting signature along the outside of the fascia, are present and accounted for. A closer look at the headlights reveals unique V-Series Mondrian pattern etching. Overall, the new front fascias, which are different for both models, feature more aggressive proportions, with a lower and wider motif.

Out back, both the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing are nearly identical to their outgoing pre-refresh counterparts. Inside, however, both performance luxury sedans boast a new 33-inch color LED touchscreen infotainment display with Google services built in, lifted straight from the Lyriq and refreshed 2024 XT4

Under the hood, the Cadillac CT5-V retains the luxury marque’s twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine (production code LGY), good for 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed exclusively via Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission, with a rear-wheel-drive configuration as standard, while all-wheel-drive is optional.

The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, meanwhile, continues to make good use of the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), rated at 668 horses and 659 pound-feet of torque. Offered exclusively in rear-wheel-drive, the super sedan can be outfitted with either the standard six-speed manual transmission or optional 10-speed automatic.
