Refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5-V And CT5-V Blackwing Revealed

After much anticipation following the September reveal of the “regular” Cadillac CT5, Cadillac has finally revealed the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing.

The front end of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V leads with a reworked grille and front fascia, distinguished by black moldings, rocker extensions and spoiler. The new headlights feature a stacked pattern and an uninterrupted vertical lighting signature, along with a Mondrian pattern etching.

A new walk-up and walk away lighting choreography provides extra flair when the driver walks up to the vehicle or walks away from it. Overall, the new front fascia has more aggressive proportions, with a lower and wider motif.

The profile and rear end carry over from the pre-refreshed model. The same holds true for the powertrain, as the 2025 CT5-V continues to be powered by the twin-turbo 3.0L V6 gasoline engine (production code LGY) rated at 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque, mated to Cadillac’c ten-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive is standard, while all-wheel-drive remains optional.

Inside, the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V gets a new 33-inch color LED touchscreen display with Google built-in. This screen, lifted straight from the Lyriq and 2024 XT4, has a customizable user interface and can also be controlled by the rotary controller on the center console. An illuminated Cadillac Crest on the back of the display is programmed to be part of the welcome walk-up lighting choreography mentioned earlier.

The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing also offers an overhauled performance front fascia and grille. As Cadillac Society was first to report months ago, the new front end’s most outstanding feature is the stacked vertical LED headlights with the uninterrupted vertical lighting signature. The Mondrian pattern etching again provides additional detailing, and the unique walk-up and walk away lighting choreography is also present and accounted for here.

The Blackwing’s distinct (and not inexpensive) Carbon Fiber packages will continue to be offered, but one of them will be updated to include a splitter. The rest of the exterior carries over, including the side profile and rear end.

The powertrain carries over untouched from the 2022, 2023 and 2024 model years. That means that the supercharged 6.2L V8 gasoline engine (production code LT4), rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. A Tremec-sourced six-speed manual transmission is standard, while Cadillac’s ten-speed automatic is optional. Regardless of the transmission, rear-wheel-drive is the sole drivetrain option.

Both the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing add three new exterior colors to their exterior paint palette, including Drift Metallic, Deep Space Metallic and Typhoon Metallic.

The Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance system with a new Driver Attention Assist feature is standard on the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing with the automatic transmission. A three-year subscription for Super Cruise mapping is standard with both models. Finally, the Performance Data Recorder (PDR) feature, offered as an option on both CT5 V-Series models, has been enhanced.

All the refreshed CT5 variants will continue to ride on the Alpha 2 platform for structure, with production expected to kick off at the Lansing Grand River plant in the Spring of 2024.

  2. What color is the vehicle in the pictures? Is that Typhoon Metallic?

    • Look at the opening scene on teh video and also at the 1:23 mark there starts several clips of the Typhoon (green). Looks OK i guess in bright sun, dull in shade based on the likelihood that the promo pic is also the green. Too bad they can’t make a great color like the Green Firemist color of the 1973 Caddy DeVille.

  3. Is it bad if I still think the Gen 3 CTS-V continues to look better than the CT5-V?

    • AGREE!! Proud owner of a Gen 3 and VERY rarely ever see another on the road. Can’t stop at a gas station without someone coming over to praise the look & stance of the car. (not exaggerating)
Great color packages and great “stock car racing” profile. Looks mean and full of business when you see it coming up in your rearview. Especially with that hood scoop that Cadillac should have never let go of. They don’t make them like that anymore.

    • (adding to previous post)…….so much so that we cancelled our 2023 Blackwing custom order when it (finally!!) arrived at dealership – we couldn’t stand the look of it compared to our Gen 3V sitting next to it.

  4. I hope not because it is dull and does not look like sneaked out pics of the color which looked really great.
