2025 Cadillac CT5 Production Start Pushed Back To May 2024

The 2025 Cadillac CT5 has some big changes in store, including an updated front fascia and an overhauled cockpit with new tech. Production of the refreshed model was originally slated to kick off April 2nd, 2024, and was subsequently pushed back to April 24th. But now, Cadillac Society has now learned that the start of production has been postponed yet again.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the start of regular production (SORP) of the 2025 Cadillac CT5 will kick off on May 6th, 2024 at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. As usual, this date is tentative and subject to change at any time.

Additionally, note that the aforementioned date only concerns production of the “regular” 2025 Cadillac CT5 range, which includes Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. It does not pertain to production of the more potent CT5 V-Series models, including the recently revealed 2025 CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing, which run on a separate production schedule.

As a reminder, the most notable change inbound for the refreshed 2025 CT5 is its revised front fascia. The forthcoming model’s grille is considerably wider than that of the outgoing model, and new signature lighting with uninterrupted vertical lighting strips, which extend from the outer edges of the headlights to the bottom of the front fascia, accentuate that grille. Stacked LED headlights light the way ahead, deviating from the side-by-side configuration seen on the outgoing model. Inside, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 boasts a large, curved 33-inch LED color touchscreen, with built-in tech features such as 5G connectivity and Google built-in compatibility.

It’s also worth noting that the 2025 CT5 does away with the base Luxury trim level, leaving only Premium Luxury and Sport.

On the powertrain side, the 2025 Cadillac CT5 continues to harness the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY) as standard. The boosted four-pot is capable of 237 horsepower 258 pound-feet of torque. A more powerful engine is offered on the Premium Luxury trim in the form of the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine (production code LGY), rated at 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is optional across all trims. Both engines bolt to the 10-speed automatic transmission.
