The No. 01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R usually sports a bright yellow livery, representing one of the three primary colors found in the Caddy crest and V-Series emblem to boot. This weekend at Sebring, though, that race car will be dressed in a flashy gold wrap, paying homage to the 50th anniversary of Mobil 1 motor oil.
The No. 01 V-Series.R will be driven by Renger van der Zande, Sebastian Bourdais and Scott Dixon during the 12 Hours of Sebring as Cadillac Racing seeks to defend last year’s victory. The race car’s matte gold wrap transitions to a black gradient, creating a feeling of forward motion even while the race car is standing still, perfectly complimenting the carbon fiber spoiler and other dark accents interspersed throughout the sleek machine.
Additionally, Cadillac Racing fans are invited to visit the Cadillac exhibition at Sebring this weekend or the Cadillac Driving Experience. Here, Caddy enthusiasts and race spectators have the chance to check out the full lineup of V-Series vehicles and celebrate 20 years of the luxury marque’s high-performance sub-brand.
Last year, the No. 31 V-Series.R of Pipo Derani, Alexander Sims and Jack Aitken overcame early contact with a competitor, which damaged the race car enough to need repairs. The setback was minimal, though, and the Cadillac Racing team nosed its way back to the front of the pack as the clock ticked down on the 12-hour endurance race.
Running fourth behind the No. 10 Acura, No. 6 Porsche and No. 7 Porsche, the No. 31 V-Series.R dodged a wreck that took out all three of the frontrunners. Deftly navigating the carnage, the No. 31 V-Series.R surged ahead of the pack to take the win at Sebring in thrilling fashion, and Derani earned his fourth trophy at the famous track. Perhaps this year, behind the wheel of the gold No. 01 V-Series.R, he can earn a fifth.
Check out the No. 01 V-Series.R being dressed in its gold livery below, and tune into the 12 Hours of Sebring at 10 a.m. EST on March 16th, 2024.
