2025 Cadillac XT5, XT6 And CT4 Will Be Offered In U.S.

As Cadillac continues to execute its strategy to completely migrate its vehicle portfolio to battery electric vehicles by the end of the decade, some of the luxury marque’s current models with internal combustion engines are facing uncertain futures in North America. In particular, the destiny of the Cadillac XT5, XT6 and CT4 beyond the 2024 model year were up in the air. However, Cadillac Society has now learned that all three of these nameplates will be offered for the 2025 model year in the U.S. market after all.

It’s important to note that we expect the 2025 Cadillac XT5, XT6 and CT4 to be carryovers from the 2024 model year. In the case of the XT5, that means the 2025 model year will be a continuation of the first-generation model, and will not be the second-gen model, which will be exclusive to the Chinese market.

The 2025 Cadillac XT6 and CT4 are also expected to be the same as they were for the 2024 model year. The luxury marque itself hasn’t announced any impending refreshes for either of the two nameplates, and our spies haven’t spotted any prototypes of either model undergoing testing yet. By contrast, we saw plenty of prototypes of the refreshed Cadillac CT5 undergoing testing well before the updated model was unveiled. That’s not to say refreshes of the XT6 and CT4 aren’t possible, but something tells us that there aren’t any major changes in the wings for either model for the 2025 model year.

For reference, the current XT6 and CT4 have both been in production since the 2020 model year, and neither has been treated to a refresh or any other substantial changes or updates since then.

  1. If they hold firm ,that the 2025 XT5 second generation will not be available in the USA ,I will hold firm on leaving the Cadillac family after 45 years .

    • Sadly, I’m with you. My next vehicle won’t be a Cadillac.

  2. The XT5 and XT6 are great cars/SUV’s. I had 2 XT5’s and currently have and XT6 and I love them. They drive great, look great and get pretty good gas mileage. I can’t understand why Cadillac is abandoning these cars…they did the same with the CTS and the CT6, both also great cars. IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!!

    • Truth is stranger than fiction. GM/Cadillac IMO, is abandoning NA in favor of China; a country who, the last time I checked, isn’t all warm and fuzzy with the US. They’ll have the vehicles we’d like to have, but are denied.

  3. No $hit Cadillac. If they are selling why get rid of them? And we don’t even get a refreshed XT5. Most people do not want and EV. Why can’t you sell them side by side like the Germans to give people choice?

  4. While car lots all across the country are full of “unsold EV’s”, why is Cadillac so intent on going all Electric by 2030. Other luxury brands are not following suit. It is extremely clear that the American public wants a CHOICE. Personally, I am not going to buy a Lyric. It’s a beautiful vehicle, but my driving style/habits do not support purchasing an EV. If Cadillac would provide the North American market with the updated 2025 XT5 that China is getting, that’s the vehicle I’d purchase. From what I read, there is no chance of that happening because Cadillac wants consumers to buy the Lyric or the smaller EV they are coming out with. When will Cadillac learn that in the minds of the American public, EV’s are too expensive, have no track record of reliability yet, under-perform in Colder winter climates, etc…. Cadillac needs to stop jamming EV’s down everyone’s throat, and meet the purchasing/leasing needs of the American public.

  5. I wholeheartedly concur with your comments! I was excited about the refreshed XT5 and was going to lease one next year; now it appears I’ll look elsewhere because I am not sold on an EV (of any make).
