Cadillac Vistiq Three-Row Electric Crossover Confirmed For China

In early 2023, Cadillac announced its intent to introduce three new electric vehicles before the end of the calendar year. Things kicked off with the reveal of the Cadillac Escalade IQ, followed by the reveal Cadillac Optiq and then the Cadillac Vistiq three-row crossover. On the heels of its debut for the North American market, Cadillac has now announced the Vistiq for China.

The Cadillac Vistiq is part of the luxury marque’s recently announced LOVE IQ EV portfolio in the country, which encompasses the Lyriq, Optiq, Vistiq and Escalade IQ. As such, the Vistiq is the fourth battery electric vehicle to be unveiled in Cadillac’s largest market by sales volume, and it will likely be built locally in China for the Chinese market, rather than being imported from the U.S., thereby avoiding hefty import taxes that sap profits and/or make the vehicles prohibitively expensive.

The Vistiq will be officially introduced in China during the 2024 calendar year. Further details, including pricing, availability, and interior design, will be announced closer to the luxury crossover’s launch date. From the released photos, we can deduce that the Cadillac Vistiq is similar in proportions to the Cadillac XT6, and that it features a closed-off upper “grille” with an LED signature, similar to what we see in the Lyriq. The Vistiq’s rear end, meanwhile, features a two-tier taillight setup consisting of an upper level with horizontally- and vertically-oriented signatures, followed by a lower level solely with vertically-oriented lights.

At this time, Cadillac has kept details regarding the Vistiq’s powertrain close to the vest, although the only images available thus far show a 600E4 badge, which indicates a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup with 600 Nm (450 pound-feet) of torque. For reference, the 600E4 powertrain in the Cadillac Lyriq delivers 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, as evidenced by prototypes spotted earlier this year, the Vistiq will offer rear-wheel steering for enhanced maneuverability and more dynamic handling.
