In order to reflect the changes made to its propulsion offerings, the 2026 Cadillac Optiq will also receive updated output badges.
Since the powertrain configuration offered in the outgoing 2025 model is no longer available, the “500E4” badging has been dropped altogether for the 2026 model year. The luxury crossover EV’s base powertrain will instead feature either “450E” for rear-drive models or “700E4” badges for non-V all-wheel-drive models. The Optiq-V will simply flaunt a V badge in place of a torque-based alphanumeric one.
In the case of the updated 2026 Cadillac Optiq, there are two new powertrain options: a new single-motor, rear-wheel drive unit and an updated dual-motor, all-wheel drive unit. The single-motor produces 315 horses (232 kw) and 332 pound-feet of twist, which equates to 450 Nm, resulting in the aforementioned “450E” badge. Note that this badge does not have a “4” since it’s not all-wheel drive.
Meanwhile, the new dual-motor setup yields a new “700E4” badge, since it makes 498 pound-feet, which equates to 675 Nm, along with a 440 horsepower (328 kW). Whether you approve or disprove of these badging initiatives, we have to give Cadillac credit for consistency. The luxury carmaker’s use of European metrics might be confusing to some, but to others it adds a touch of class and is a sophisticated way to distinguish one model from another.
