Cadillac XT4-V Renderings Imagine What Will Never Be

The Cadillac XT4-V would be the best of two worlds, marrying the functionality of a luxury crossover with the handling prowess and get-up-and-go of a sedan. Sadly, there aren’t any real-life plans to bring such a model to market, but Cadillac Society couldn’t help but wonder what the XT4 would look like if it were given the V-Series treatment.

We based our rendering on the fully-refreshed 2024 XT4 Sport, borrowing its dark-themed exterior elements, such as its beltline, roof rails, grille and other exterior accents. And given that this is the 2024 model, we also implemented the overhauled front fascia along with the minor revisions to the rear fascia.

The front fascia from our hypothetical Cadillac XT4-V are lifted from the XT4 Sport, since the V-Series line often features the same elements as their Sport-trimmed counterparts (while the V-Series Blackwing models get an entirely different front fascia). We did take some creative liberties at the rear, equipping the vehicle with quad-tipped exhaust outlets, much like what’s seen on the Cadillac CT4-V sedan. As one may expect, our rendering also features the iconic V-Series “Racing Mondrian” logo, denoting its performance-oriented character.

Now, for the fun part: the mechanical bits. We imagine that our hypothetical Cadillac XT4-V makes use of a version of the Active Sport Suspension with Continuous Damping Control (CDC), but calibrated for higher levels of performance. The brakes are mechanically identical to what’s found on the “regular” XT4, but the calipers would be offered in a variety of colors like red, blue, or black to show through its 20-inch wheels. Our rendering uses the black calipers.

As far as power goes, our make-believe Cadillac XT4-V would employ a new turbocharged 2.5L I4 (production code LK0) gasoline engine currently being introduced in various models from Cadillac parent company, General Motors. The boosted four-pot will be mated to the nine-speed automatic transmission, routing power to an all-wheel-drive (AWD) driveline with a twin-clutch setup at the rear. This powerhouse is capable of 326 pound-feet of torque, a significant improvement over the 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque produced by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), which is currently the only option for the real-life XT4.
