The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ brings the popular luxury SUV nameplate into the electric vehicle era. Colloquially known as the electric Escalade, the Escalade IQ had its global debut on August 8th, 2023. Now, the luxury marque has officially announced the 2025 Escalade IQ for Canada, making it the second market for the new electric utility.
The Canadian version of the Escalade IQ doesn’t differ at all from its U.S. counterpart. The trim level lineup is the same, including Luxury and Sport, each of which features unique cues that differentiate them from one another. For example, the Luxury trim boasts (shiny) brushed aluminum accents, while the Sport gets dark metal accents.
The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ bears the familiar, boxy upright stance that makes it instantly recognizable as an Escalade. However, that powerful motif boasts a much sleeker profile with a sloping roof. The hood is also notably longer than that in its ICE-powered variant, enabling a silhouette that’s more appropriate for a luxury vehicle.
Riding on the all-new BT1 platform, the Escalade IQ features Ultium Drive motors and Ultium batteries. The 200 kWh 24-module battery pack is capable of producing 450 miles of range on a single charge. As for power, the electric propulsion system consists of a two-motor eAWD configuration good for up to 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque.
Just like the U.S.-spec variant, the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ bound for the Canadian market features a generous pillar-to-pillar 55-inch curved screen, with the instrument cluster situated behind the steering wheel. Infotainment functions (with Google built in) can be accessed on the central part of the large screen.
As of this writing, the luxury marque has not revealed pricing for the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ in Canada. However, it’s worth noting that the forthcoming model will start at $130,000 in the U.S., which would convert to approximately CA$175,000 at current exchange rates. Production will commence in summer 2024 at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan, now known as Factory Zero.
