Almost exactly one year ago, Cadillac Society spotted a mysterious Caddy crossover prototype undergoing testing, and a short while later, we learned that the forthcoming vehicle would be the Cadillac GT4, thanks to patent images leaked in China. Now, this small luxury crossover has been spotted without camouflage in China, giving us a good glimpse of what it will look like in its production form.
The forthcoming 2024 Cadillac GT4 will represent the entry-level crossover in the luxury marque’s Chinese lineup, slotting beneath the Cadillac XT4 (which was why it was initially expected to bear the XT3 moniker). In fact, the GT4 will be underpinned by the E2 platform, which is shared with the XT4.
The model’s name can be clearly seen on its front license plate, confirming its identity. Two units were spotted out and about. The first is dressed in Premium Luxury trim, identifiable by its bright chrome exterior accents, while the other is a Sport, bearing dark-themed exterior accents.
The 2024 Cadillac GT4 features a low profile, with a streamlined roof that flows into a short liftgate spoiler. The front end bears a striking resemblance to that of the Cadillac CT5 and second-gen CT6 luxury sedans, sporting a narrow, horizontally-oriented headlight cluster on either side of a deep-set polygonal grille bracketed by vertical daytime running lamp assemblies.
Inside, the 2024 Cadillac GT4 features a large curved display screen that’s similar to that of the refreshed XT4, albeit in a more compact setting.
The Cadillac GT4 is set to debut during the 2023 calendar year in China, and the Dong Yue plant will handle its production for the Asian market. Under the hood, it will feature the luxury marque’s new turbocharged 1.5L I4 engines, with upper-tier trim levels featuring the optional turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY). At the time of this writing, we are not aware of any plans for the Cadillac GT4 to be released outside of China.
