The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq launched in the Chinese market back in June of 2022, bring the luxury marque’s first-ever battery electric vehicle to the Asian country. Now, Cadillac Society has spotted a China-spec Lyriq Sport AWD, and the vehicle is clad in a subtle blue exterior hue that we haven’t seen on the road before.
This name of this particular color roughly translates to Evening Sky Rain Blue. While the color was displayed at the Lyriq launch event in China, the model seen in these photos represents the first time we’ve seen the soft periwinkle hue in the real world.
Note that this vehicle is outfitted with black daylight opening (DLO) trim elements, black mirror caps and black “grille” surrounds, all elements that are true to the Sport trim level. However, its door handles are finished in chrome, a peculiar detail, considering that other examples of the Lyriq Sport feature black handles.
Out back, we find smoky (Neutral Density) taillight assemblies, which have been darkened to create a more sinister look for the Lyriq Sport Lyriq. The liftgate is outfitted with a 700E badge, indicating that this particular Cadillac Lyriq features all-wheel-drive facilitated by a dual-motor setup. As for power output, this setup is rated at 503 horsepower (375 kW) and 524 pound-feet of torque for the Chinese market, and is said to be capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds. Total driving range on a single charge is rated at 287 miles.
As a reminder, the Lyriq rides on the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform. Production of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq for China has been underway since May 2022 at the Jinqiao China plant in Shanghai. The Lyriq started arriving at the luxury marque’s Pure Electric IQ store network late last year. Meanwhile, North American market Lyriqs are built at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
