It’s no secret that the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is fast, thanks to its supercharged eight-cylinder powerhouse, properly-balanced rear-wheel-drive setup, and a host of track-ready features and parts. In fact, the ultra-high-performance luxury sedan is now recognized as the fastest production sedan to ever grace the Dubai Autodrome GP Circuit.
The CT5-V Blackwing recently laid down a blistering lap, navigating the 3.34-mile course in just 2:17.63 seconds, outrunning the previous record by more than one second.
“Performance has always been part of Cadillac’s DNA, and this is perfectly personified in the CT5-V Blackwing,” said Kristian Aquilina, Managing Director of Cadillac International Operations and Cadillac Middle East. “Cadillac’s fastest-ever car arrived in the region with a big splash and quickly claimed its territory on some of the world’s most renowned tracks, its natural habitat.”
The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing also holds another record in Dubai, having proved to be the fastest four-door sedan with a lap time of 2:20.97 at Yas Marina back in 2021.
As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing harnesses the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), which snarls to the tune of a whopping 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, routed exclusively to the rear wheels. Other track-ready features include an aero package, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, Magnetic Ride Control and grippy Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The super sedan rides on the luxury marque’s Alpha 2 platform, and is assembled at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. Production of the 2023 model year began on July 18th.
In the U.S., the super sedan became more expensive for the 2023 model year, starting at $92,390 for models that feature the standard six-speed manual transmission, while the 10-speed automatic transmission brings the starting MSRP to $95,565.
