2023 Cadillac Escalade Adaptive Beam Headlights Unavailable For Rest Of Model Year

As first reported by Cadillac Society in July, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade received the new Adaptive Beam Headlight technology. A short time later, the feature became unavailable for the start of the 2023 model year. Now, though, Cadillac Society has learned that the feature will be completely unavailable for the remainder of the 2023 model year.

As a reminder, the Adaptive Headlight System for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade utilizes a high-speed computer with a sophisticated algorithm that can scan the driver’s field of view over 30 times per second, altering the LED headlamp coverage based on the vehicles, motorcycles, and pedestrians that appear in the driver’s field of view scan. All that results in automatic adjustment of the forward lighting beam, delivering better forward illumination for the driver while preventing glare for oncoming drivers.

Adaptive Headlights was an optional extra on the Escalade Premium Luxury and Sport trims and was included as part of the Touring Package (production code ST1). The tech was standard on Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport Platinum and the Escalade-V. It was not available at all on the base Escalade Luxury.

Sources tell Cadillac Society that validation tests of the Adaptive Beam Headlight System are currently ongoing, and the technology has not yet been approved for sale in the U.S. However, it is available for the Escalade in the Canadian market.

Pricing for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade starts at $79,590 for the base Luxury trim with rear-wheel-drive, while the extended-length Escalade ESV starts at $82,590 for the base Luxury trim with rear-wheel-drive. Production of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade, which rides on the luxury marque’s T1 platform, commenced on July 18th at the Arlington plant in Texas.
