Onyx Package Available To Order On 2023 Cadillac CT4 Again

The Onyx Package hasn’t been available to order on the 2023 Cadillac CT4 since the start of the model year’s production. Now, however, Cadillac Society has learned that the package has been added back to the list of options for the luxury sedan, and can once again be ordered.

The Onyx Package (production code PDB) is an exterior accent package that modifies the luxury sedan’s styling with a set of dark-themed cosmetic components. It was first introduced on the 2022 Cadillac CT4 as an LPO-level item, meaning that it is installed by a dealer rather than on the assembly line at the factory. It is offered on Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels and adds $2,995 to the vehicle’s price when applied to Premium Luxury trim, and $3,195 for the Luxury (base) and Sport trim levels.

The Onyx Package for the 2023 Cadillac CT4 bundles the following cosmetic components (relevant production codes in parentheses):

  • 19-inch alloy wheels with Gloss Black finish (SOU)
  • Gloss Black CT4 nameplate, LPO (RIK)
  • Black mirror caps (5JS)
  • Black grille (5XR)
  • Monochrome Cadillac emblems (SFZ)
  • Gloss Black grille trim (E5K)

It’s worth noting that the Onyx Package is also available on the high-performance 2023 Cadillac CT4-V, but its availability was not impacted by the constraints mentioned above. In other words, the package has been available to order on the 2023 Cadillac CT4-V since it entered production in July.

As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac CT4 rides on the luxury marque’s Alpha 2 platform and features the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY)  as standard, rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. It’s standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. Models with this engine get the 350T designation on the decklid as part of Cadillac’s torque-based nomenclature. From there, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 engine (production code L3B) is optional on the CT4 Premium Luxury, where it makes 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. These models wear the 500T badge. The sportier CT4-V is powered by the same turbocharged 2.7L I4 engine, but it’s tuned to produce 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque.

  1. I ordered a 2023 XT5 which was produced @ 2 months ago, yet has not arrived at the dealership. Is the delay due to the Onyx package I added, the continued unavailability of microchips or something else? Have you any idea when I could reasonably expect it?
