The next generation 2024 Cadillac CT6 is on the way, featuring an all-new exterior design over the current, first generation. Cadillac Society recently spotted a prototype of the upcoming large luxury sedan undergoing testing with production lighting elements – which we’re showing you here today.
This new set of spy shots follows those we shared in March, when we captured a next-gen CT6 wearing heavy camo, giving us a first real-world glimpse of the upcoming luxury sedan, but this model wore a set of placeholder headlights and taillights. We then spotted a CT6 prototype testing in Michigan in July, this time with lighter camo to give us a better idea of the model’s body lines and exterior design. The model spotted in July, however, was also outfitted with placeholder lights.
This latest 2024 Cadillac CT6 prototype is also clad in a body-hugging camo wrap. The angles of these spy photos lend a better view of the vehicle’s front fascia, which features a new grille treatment. As for the headlights, they are made up of two layers – the horizontally-oriented set at the top will will likely serve as the turn signals. From there, two sets of vertically-oriented lights are present: the ones on the outer edges of the front end will serve as the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), while the primary forward lighting units (the headlights) seem to be positioned inside of the vertical DRLs. The entire setup is very similar to the new Cadillac Lyriq.
This new fascia is substantially different from the smaller CT4 and CT5 luxury sedans, but it’s worth noting that both of those are in for refreshes of their own for the 2024 model year. It’s certainly possible that the updates to the CT4 and CT5 will deliver a similar front fascia and lighting treatment as what we see here on the next-gen CT6.
Out back, this CT6 prototype shows off a very wide Center High Mount Stop Light (CHMSL), which almost spans the entire length of the vehicle’s rear window. The prototype is also equipped with production vertical taillights, which combine both vertical and horizontal lighting elements to form an upside-down L shape. The design direction is similar to what we see on the refreshed first-gen CT6, which was introduced for the 2019 model year.
As for what’s under the hood, the second-generation CT6 will likely harness the luxury marque’s turbocharged 2.0L I4 gasoline engine (production code LSY), which is currently offered in every single Cadillac model sold in China. It’s also possible that the second-gen CT6 could make use of a mild hybrid system much like several Cadillac sold in China, like the XT4 crossover for the Chinese market. The hybrid setup mates the boosted four-cylinder internal combustion engine with a small electric motor and a battery for improved fuel economy.

One of four new colors for the 2025 model year.
And it now represents the best value in its segment.
A curious sighting from a video of the Cadillac design studio.
