Take An In-Depth Tour Of The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Interior: Video

Cadillac’s massive electric vehicle push presents the luxury marque with an opportunity to redefine itself, including the way it develops, builds, and styles its vehicles. Cadillac took full advantage of that opportunity, completely rethinking the cabin, starting with the all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq – and the following Lyriq interior video tour shows exactly what we mean.

Hosted by Cadillac Society Executive Editor, Alex Luft, the video provides a very detailed look at every aspect of the Lyriq’s cabin, including the doors, interior materials, instrument panel and infotainment screens, front and rear seats, as well as the trunk.

Of course, the first thing to do is enter the Cadillac Lyriq. To do so, one needs to press the door-handle-like button affixed to the outside of the door, which pushes the door open. The front door can then be opened by using the sleek handle (called the “fin”) located just below the window, revealing the vehicle’s serene interior. Materials coating every touchable surface are soft-touch rather, a noteworthy departure from the hard panels included on Cadillac’s current crossovers and sedans, resulting in a high-quality look and feel. From here, the vehicle’s unique controls are visible, such as the decadent switchgear, along with high-quality buttons and switches – all of which have been redesigned for the Lyriq.

There are plenty of special details almost everywhere you look inside the Lyriq, many of which were inspired by features found on Cadillac models from decades past. The door panels are adorned with a mesh inlay featuring a geometric pattern, and the door jambs sport merlettes borrowed from the luxury marque’s early insignia. In addition, the air vents have been completely rethought, with unique adjustment and air volume controls not seen on any Cadillac before the Lyriq.

Sound is carried through the 19-speaker AKG sound system, with speakers integrated into the front seat headrests. The seats are about two inches wider than the seats offered in other Cadillac crossovers as a result of the seat adjustment controls being relocated to the door panels instead of being affixed to the seats themselves.

A generous 33-inch curved LED display handles the gauge cluster and infotainment duties, featuring crisp, clear graphics powered by Epic Games Unreal Engine. Vehicle functions and settings are accessed either by using the touchscreen or via the rotary control in the center console.

Luft notes that the Lyriq interior is very spacious, giving passengers more than enough room both in the front and in the rear. The rear seats are capable of reclining as well as folding almost flat. The trunk, meanwhile, has plenty of space, and features a hidden storage compartment under the load floor. Interestingly, the presence of this compartment explains why the Lyriq does not feature a frunk.
