70 Percent Of Cadillac Lyriq Buyers Are New To The Brand

The all-new 2023 Cadillac Lyriq begins a new page in the luxury marque’s rich history, ushering in an all-electric chapter. So far, the battery electric luxury crossover has drummed up plenty of interest, and has even drawn in a large amount of buyers who have never owned a Cadillac.

In a recent media presentation attended by Cadillac Society, the luxury marque revealed that 70 percent of Lyriq buyers are new to the Cadillac brand. This proves that the all-new electric crossover’s appeal is widespread, and that buyers are very receptive of the EV. In fact, not only is the Lyriq drawing in buyers who have never owned a Cadillac product, but many of those buyers are younger – 68 percent of Lyriq customers are members of Gen X or Gen Y demographic groups.

The Lyriq certainly breaks the mold as far as Cadillacs go, so it makes sense that it appeals to a new customer base. The electric luxury crossover is underpinned by the all-new BEV3 platform, and is driven by the Ultium Drive technology coupled with Ultium batteries in a skateboard layout. Power output is 340 horsepower for RWD models and 500 horsepower for AWD models, with an estimated 312 miles of range from a full charge.

Orders opened for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq RWD and Lyriq AWD on the morning of May 19th, but strong demand resulted in the books filling up very quickly. Now, interested customers are able to place their names on a pre-order waitlist by paying a fully refundable $100 deposit. Cadillac says that waitlist customers may have a chance at ordering a 2023 Lyriq if availability allows, or that they will be granted the first opportunity to place an order for a 2024 model year vehicle.
