2. With Smart Towing
The 2022 Cadillac XT4 offers one drivetrain option in North America – the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY). Rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, this setup is capable of hauling 2,500 pounds (1,134 kilograms) from the factory.
The optional Trailering Package adds a heavy duty cooling system to the luxury crossover, along with a two-inch receiver and wiring connector, which brings the XT4’s towing capacity to 3,500 pounds (1,588 kilograms).
The Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels of the 2022 Cadillac XT5 are powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY) as standard, which is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The naturally-aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque, is optional on the Premium Luxury trim and standard on the Sport trim. Both of these powertrain configurations are capable of towing up to 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms).
Equipping the 2022 XT5 with the optional Smart Towing package brings its hauling capacity to 3,500 pounds. The Smart Towing package includes the following content:
- Hitch Guidance
- Hitch Guidance with Hitch View
- Hitch cover and seven-wire harness
- 170-amp alternator (optional on Premium Luxury, standard on Sport)
- Heavy duty cooling system (optional on Premium Luxury, standard on Sport)
Finally, the 2022 Cadillac XT6 is powered by a choice of the same two engines as the XT5. The turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY) is rated at 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is standard on the base Luxury trim level. The Premium and Sport trim levels feature the naturally-aspirated 3.6L V6 engine (production code LGX), which is rated at 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of torque.
Units of the XT6 equipped with these engines can tow 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms). However, opting for the Smart Towing package, which includes all of the aforementioned content, gives the XT6 the capability to haul 4,000 pounds (1,814 kilograms).
