All-New 2021 Cadillac Escalade Launches In Russia

As of July 1st, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade has officially launched in Russia. The all-new-for-2021 Escalade represents an all-new generation, bringing all-new exterior styling, an all-new interior, and the latest technologies to the marque’s flagship full-size SUV.

Full-size American SUVs are in high demand in Russia, and the Escalade has consistently accounted for the majority of Cadillac’s sales in the country. In fact, Cadillac is seeing healthy growth in the Russian market, with a 700 percent increase in sales this April. It is also interesting to note that the outgoing-, fourth-generation Escalade was produced in the neighboring country of Belarus to help keep up with increased demand in Russia.

“With the all-new Escalade, we truly believe that we have pushed the boundaries of technology, handling and design while staying true to the Cadillac DNA that makes our vehicles so visible on the road,” Ciprian Suta, managing director of Cadillac Russia, stated in a press release. “Every detail of the Escalade was created to give the buyer a sense of exclusivity, from the bold and expressive exterior and interior to the extensive customization and unrivaled performance of Cadillac’s large luxury SUV.”

The 2021 model year marks the first year of the fifth generation Cadillac Escalade. Customers are able to choose between the regular-length Escalade or the extended-length Escalade ESV. Both variants of the luxury SUV will be offered with the naturally aspirated 6.2L V-8 engine (production code L87) rated at 416 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque. This comes bolted to a 10-speed transmission to make sure all that power meets the road.

As of this writing, the turbocharged 3.0L I-6 diesel engine (production code LM2) is not available for purchase in Russia, but that could potentially change in the future. The diesel motor is substantially more efficient than its gasoline counterpart, particularly on the highway.
