2020-2022 Cadillac CT4, CT5 Recalled For Issue With Roof Rail Airbags

Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, has issued a recall for both the Cadillac CT4 and Cadillac CT5 due to an issue with the roof rail airbags.

The problem: the roof rail side airbags in affected vehicles may not have been properly installed during vehicle assembly. A twist may exist between two of the roof rail airbag attachment points. This issue may exist on either the left side or the right side of the vehicle.

The hazards: if the airbag is twisted between attachment points, it may not deploy properly in the event of a crash. This may result in an increased risk of injury to vehicle occupants.

The fix: dealers will perform a thorough inspection of both the right- and left-side roof rail airbags. If a twist is found in either roof rail side airbags, the affected airbag will be repositioned to remove the flaw. This service will be performed at no cost to vehicle owners.

Affected components: roof rail side airbags.

Affected vehicles:

  • 2020, 2021, 2022 Cadillac CT4
  • 2020, 2021, 2022 Cadillac CT5

Number of affected vehicles: Cadillac has not specified how many units of the CT4 and CT5 may be affected by the issue with the roof rail airbags.

Next steps: owners of affected vehicles will be contacted with instructions to schedule an appointment with their dealer. Additionally, owners can visit my.cadillac.com/recalls and input their vehicle’s VIN to find out if a particular Cadillac CT4 or Cadillac CT5 is affected by this recall.
