In May of 2020, Cadillac Society exclusively reported that the Cadillac XT4 will launch in Russia in the not-too-distant future. Now, we’re back to report that the compact luxury crossover has officially launched in the Russian market.
As such, the Cadillac XT4 reaches Russia, the only country in the world where Cadillac is the best-selling division of its parent company, General Motors, two years after the vehicle’s launch in various other global markets. The addition of the XT4 to Cadillac’s lineup in Russia strengthens the luxury marque’s portfolio in hopes of further growing sales volume in the country.
During the local launch event, Cadillac announced that it was immediately starting to take reservations for the 2021 Cadillac XT4 prior to the model officially becoming available in Russian dealerships later this month. Executives expect the XT4 to become the brand’s best-selling model and the main driver of Cadillac’s planned expansion in the country.
The arrival of the 2021 Cadillac XT4 in Russia will take place roughly three months after the compact crossover’s launch in Europe, where it debuted the marque’s all-new turbodiesel engine (production code LSQ) designed precisely to meet the needs of customers in that continent. The new diesel engine will also be offered in the XT4 in Russia. The 2.0L turbo-diesel engine (production code LSQ) is rated at a maximum output of 174 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque.
The new turbodiesel engine will complement the ubiquitous 2.0L turbocharged gasoline engine (production code LSY) that the Cadillac XT4 offers in all markets where it is sold internationally. The boosted gasoline four-cylinder is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
In Russia, the gasoline engine will be standard, while the turbodiesel will be optional. Both engines will be mated to Caddy’s 9-speed automatic transmission.
Much like in North America and China, the Russian-market 2021 Cadillac XT4 is offered in three trim levels – Luxury (base), Premium Luxury and Sport. Each is offered in either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.
The model aims to win over local customers with a distinctive exterior design and features designed to meet various customer profiles. An extensive list of standard equipment places the XT4 as one of the most modern vehicles in its class.
2021 Cadillac XT4 deliveries are expected to be available in Russia before the end of January, where it joins the existing XT5 and XT6 to continue expanding the marque’s lineup in the country. The Russian-market XT4 will be imported from the Fairfax plant in Kansas City, USA that’s responsible for building the XT4 for the North American market as well as for most international markets except for China.
Starting MSRP for the Cadillac XT4 in the Russian market are as follows:
