Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Performance Details Revealed

Anticipation is building for the release of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, one of two up-and-coming high-performance sedans set to bear the V-Series badge this year. Now, details on the CT5-V Blackwing’s performance specs have been revealed thanks to the supposed leak of a Cadillac order guide.

In a recent post, AutoVerdict claims to have acquired the order guide for the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, which provides a few insights into the super sedan’s abilities. Although the origin of the alleged order guide is a bit sketchy, the specs cited do seem to line up with previous Cadillac Society reports.

The big headline is the internal combustion goodness found under the hood, namely the same supercharged 6.2L V8 engine as was equipped in the third-generation Cadillac CTS-V (production code LT4), as Cadillac Society reported more than a year ago. The recent AutoVerdict report also states that the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will have more horsepower than any Cadillac prior, which means it’ll dole out more than the 640 ponies produced by the third-gen CTS-V.

Routing the power to the wheels will be one of two transmission options, including either a six-speed manual, or a 10-speed automatic.

With all that go under the hood, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will have motivation necessary to hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds. Keep your foot in it, and the CT5-V Blackwing will be capable of topping 200 mph. That latter spec was revealed in a teaser image of the new Blackwing model’s steering wheel, which includes an Easter Egg referencing the CT5-V Blackwing’s impressive top speed.

Further details will include optional magnesium wheels, carbon fiber racing seats with heating and cooling, more aggressive aero, and sharper handling.

The new 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will be available this summer alongside its slightly smaller sibling, the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing.
