The 2020 Cadillac CT6-V represents the second model year of the V-Series CT6. And for that model year, the large sedan will receive several small but noteworthy changes and updates.
The first is the deletion of the Rear Seat Package (option code Y4Z), which included the following features:
Hence, the CT6-V can no longer be ordered with these features.
The second change to the 2020 Cadillac CT6-V is the addition of the Driver Assist Package (option code Y66) as standard. The package was optional on the 2019 CT6-V and included:
As such, all three features become standard for the 2020 Cadillac CT6-V, rounding out the changes and updates for Cadillac’s range-topping sedan.
Initially announced as the CT6 V-Sport before being renamed to CT6-V, the Cadillac CT6-V is the most powerful model of the CT6 sedan range. It features Cadillac’s all-new, hand-built 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 DOHC LTA engine, called Blackwing, rated at 550 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, paired to a new 10-speed automatic transmission driving all four wheels. Other notable features include a special tune to the Magnetic Ride Control suspension system.
Cadillac previously announced that the CT6 range would be discontinued in North America, but this will not longer take place, as new Cadillac President, Steve Carlisle, along with his boss – GM President Mark Reuss – both announced that the large sedan will remain available, despite plans to shutter the Detroit-Hamtramck plant where the vehicle is currently made. According to Cadillac Society sources, the automaker is currently weighing options of moving production to another North American plant or importing the CT6 from China.
