You have to buy one. (It says so in the Owners Manual).
e_s_jonesParticipantThat’s what “Limited” means.
e_s_jonesParticipantThis is depressing. I have a target production week of 3/28, and was hoping transport would only take a week or two. (I’m in Ohio.)
e_s_jonesParticipantMy TPW is 3/28. I’d go to Lansing and get it there if that was an option.

The premium mats are the same price if you buy them directly from the dealer, so I’m going to do that, so I get both mat sets.December 10, 2021 at 11:49 am in reply to: Cadillac CT5 Rumors, Questions & General Discussions #84842e_s_jonesParticipantCadillac web site finally has the 2022 CT5 Build and Price tool available.
e_s_jonesParticipantI feel your pain. I’ve rented a couple of Tesla and fell in love with the driver assist technology and then placed an order for one. Most of the major automotive magazines and websites, though, report that Super Cruise is a better, safer system. So, for that reason, my long history of GM loyalty, and some recent news out of Tesla, I canceled my Model Y order and am waiting to order a new CT5 with Super Cruise as soon as the order books open.
I’d love a test drive, but I’ve resigned myself to just buying the feature on reputation and reviews. It’s sort of like buying a new Corvette… no dealer that I know ever has one available for a test drive. (I asked once, and the salesperson almost laughed at me.)
November 24, 2021 at 2:01 pm in reply to: Cadillac CT5 Rumors, Questions & General Discussions #83911e_s_jonesParticipantPlease clarify. Is it a major disappointment that your car won’t have Super Cruise, OR have you tried Super Cruise and found the system to be a major disappointment?

They have stated that a retrofit will not be possible post-delivery. It’s probably safe to say Cadillac will take the same position on this. I could be wrong.

(I’m also in Ohio.) It sounds like there may be enough parts supply to include the heated steering wheel in some (maybe even most) but not ALL cars built.
November 23, 2021 at 11:53 am in reply to: Cadillac CT5 Rumors, Questions & General Discussions #83856e_s_jonesParticipantChip shortage comes to CT5. According to the latest order guide, “Certain vehicles built on or after December 6, 2021, will be forced to include (00G) Not Equipped with Heated Steering Wheel, which removes heated steering wheel.” I know this is internal (though not confidential) information, but again, there is little additional detail. Things like, can the heated steering wheel feature be added post-delivery when chips are available again? What does “certain” vehicles mean? Will the feature availability be hit-or-miss? I really like the heated steering wheel on my Buick. Lack of the feature won’t stop me from ordering a CT5, but it’s yet one more aggravation.
November 12, 2021 at 12:41 pm in reply to: Cadillac CT5 Rumors, Questions & General Discussions #83572e_s_jonesParticipantecaravanos, when you give Cadillac your order number (assuming you have one) what do they say your status is?
e_s_jonesParticipantMy thoughts are worth what you paid for them, but I think GM has made such a big deal over the $60K price point that it would be a PR disaster for them to raise it significantly. More likely, they’ll reduce the number of units produced in the “Debut” edition to soften the financial hit, if needed.
I was told by a dealer that the initial run was going to be about 1,500 units, so I think reservations will sell out within minutes.
e_s_jonesParticipantLatest news I’ve read says that Lansing Grand River assembly is closed through the week of June 28. So, that long, at least.
