The Cadillac Society Take

After experiencing declines for three consecutive quarters, Cadillac sales recorded a healthy increase during the third quarter of the year in the United States. The performance represents the luxury marque’s first positive result during the 2024 calendar year, ending the series of systematic contractions that it had accumulated since the last quarter 2023.

The increase during the quarter was driven primarily by another triple-digit increase for the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq, which again posted a healthy volume for its second-best record since launch. In fact, the performance was close to the record 7,294 units recorded during Q2 2024. The zero-emission crossover SUV thus cements itself as Cadillac’s second-most popular nameplate in the U.S. market, after the Escalade.

Additionally, the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 and Cadillac XT6 also contributed to the positive Q3 performance. Both crossovers saw similar growth rates, adding a cumulative 600 units to year-over-year to the bottom line. Meanwhile, the Cadillac Escalade was still in the red compared to the 9,953 total deliveries for both body configurations in Q3 2023. Still, the full-size SUV leads the marque’s sales and is set to improve its performance with the refreshed model starting in the fourth quarter of the year.

  1. If they had made the revised XT5 available in this country, the sales numbers would have been higher.
