The first production example of a new model is often highly coveted by collectors, and Cadillac has now announced that buyers will have the chance to bid on the first retail production unit of the all-electric 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ. The model is set to be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson this fall, with all proceeds set to benefit the Detroit Children’s Fund.
The 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ VIN 001 will cross the auction block during the 2024 Scottsdale Fall Auction, which is scheduled for October 10th through 13th at the WestWorld equestrian facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. The full-size battery electric luxury SUV will be donated by Cadillac for the sale.
“We’re honored that Cadillac is bringing the sale of their first retail production Escalade IQ to Barrett-Jackson,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “This is a tremendous opportunity for someone to own an incredible piece of automotive history. We are proud that 100 percent of the proceeds from the sale of this vehicle will support children’s education throughout Detroit.”
The Escalade IQ, which made its official debut in August 2023, is capable of delivering a maximum 450 miles of driving range on a single charge, along with 680 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque in Normal Mode. Engaging Max Mode bumps those figures to 750 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque.
Inside, the cockpit is dominated by a 55-inch coast-to-coast (or pillar-to-pillar) infotainment screen. A standout option option is the optional Executive Second-Row Seating Package, which bundles features like a 40-speaker AKG Studio Reference audio system, 12.6-inch personal screens for second-row passengers, and 14-way power-adjustable, heated, ventilated and massaging second-row seats.
“The 2025 Cadillac ESCALADE IQ redefines what a luxury SUV can be,” said General Motors President Mark Reuss. “It brings iconic design, the utmost craftsmanship and the latest technology. We’re excited to work with Barrett-Jackson on the auction of Escalade IQ VIN 001, with every dollar of the proceeds going to the Detroit Children’s Fund.”
Assembly of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ will take place at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant (also known as Factory Zero), where the start of regular production (SORP) is scheduled to kick off in early October 2024. Pricing for the all-electric luxury SUV starts at $129,990 for the base Luxury 1 trim, as previously reported by Cadillac Society.
