The Cadillac Celestiq, in production form, broke cover in late 2022, bundling the height of luxury, electric propulsion, and a wealth of customization options into the luxury marque’s new flagship vehicle. Unsurprisingly, all that comes at a premium, and interested customers should be prepared to shell out upwards of $340,000. Now, Cadillac Society has learned that the Celestiq will not launch as a 2024 model year vehicle, but as a 2025 model instead.
While the ultra-luxury electric sedan was initially announced to launch as a 2024 model year vehicle, Cadillac Society confirmed with Cadillac that the first customer units of the Cadillac Celestiq to be assembled will be of the 2025 model year.
As a reminder, Celestiq buyers will be invited to design and customize their Celestiq at the Cadillac House at Vanderbilt. There, they will be guided through every step of their ultra-luxury sedan’s design before the vehicle is assembled almost entirely by hand at the Artisan Center located on campus. However, the Celestiq is a hot commodity and will be produced in very small numbers; in fact, only 100 to 150 units are expected to be produced each year. As such, it is only being marketed in extremely affluent markets, and there is a waitlist for its purchase. Production of the Celestiq kicked off in January.
The Cadillac Celestiq rides on the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform and harnesses a 111 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive propulsion system, which provides 300 miles of driving range on a single charge while delivering 600 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque.
Other highlights include a 55-inch coast-to-coast display that spans the width of the dash, along with a roof with SPD Smartglass, which can be darkened or lightened thanks to integrated particles that respond to an electrical charge. There is also an endless array of exterior color options available to customers, such as Venom, Habanero, and Boysenberry Matte, although any color can be chosen even if it is not already on the palette.

Does anybody really care when this thing goes into production

Well I would like to see ar after they an honest review of this car after start of production, namely how comfortable are the seating positions and how well does the car handle?
Much of this car will be obsolete before 500 are made, and to me the dashboards need a redesign if the 2 Lyriq’s I’ve extensively driven are any indication.
The car to me looks like an AMC Gremlinized version of the Lyriq. I can accept bugaboos with that car since it is one fifth the price.

The front end and, I suppose, the side view forward of the C pillars is okay. But that rear end … don’t know what the designers were smoking and/or drinking.
