The 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing ushers in the luxury super sedan’s fourth model year. While it doesn’t boast many major changes or updates compared to prior model years, Cadillac Society has learned of at least one notable difference: the luxury super sedan will ditch four exterior paint colors that were previously available for the 2024 model year.
Those four colors are Black Diamond Tricoat (paint code GLK), Mercury Silver Metallic (paint code GKA), Midnight Steel Metallic (paint code GXU), and Velocity Red (paint code G7C). Of these, Black Diamond Tricoat and Mercury Silver Metallic were the rarest hues, as they were exclusively offered on special editions of the 2024 CT4-V Blackwing. Black Diamond was introduced as an exclusive V-Series 20th anniversary color, while Mercury Silver decorated the CT4-V Blackwing Arrival Edition, one of three Mondrian Edition models.
Introduced for 2024 before being subsequently discontinued for the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, Velocity Red also had a one-year run. Meanwhile, Midnight Steel Metallic was introduced for the 2023 CT4-V Blackwing before being retired for the 2025 model year.
Black Diamond and Midnight Steel were able to be ordered in conjunction with all Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing interior colorways except Mondrian Edition combination, which included:
- Jet Black with Jet Black Accents
- Sangria with Jet Black Accents
- Natural Tan with Jet Black Accents
- Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black Accents
Meanwhile, Mercury Silver could only be combined with the three Mondrian Edition interior colorways, which included:
- Jet Black with Sky Cool Gray Accents
- Jet Black with Signet Accents
- Jet Black with Adrenaline Red Accents
Velocity Red could be paired with all seven 2024 colorways.
While four exterior colors are being removed, three new ones are joining the lineup for the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. These include Deep Space Metallic (paint code GAI), Drift Metallic (paint code GAE) and Typhoon Metallic (paint code GBW). At this time, there are no photos of the three new colors.
As a reminder, the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing rides on the Alpha 2 platform, and is built at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. It harnesses the luxury marque’s twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4), which makes 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, and can be paired with the six-speed manual transmission as standard or the 10-speed automatic as an option. Power is routed exclusively through the rear two wheels.
