2025 Cadillac XT5 Will Drop Platinum Package

The North American-market 2025 Cadillac XT5 will no longer offer the optional Platinum Package, Cadillac Society has learned.

Previously, the Platinum Package (production code JSE) was offered on the 2024 XT5 Premium Luxury and Sport trims, with its price varying by trim level. Package content is as follows (relevant production codes listed in parentheses):

  • Semi-Aniline leather seating with Chevron perforated inserts (all rows)
  • Leather-wrapped instrument panel, console and door trim
  • Sueded microfiber headliner
  • Illuminated front door sill plates
  • Front and rear premium carpeted floor mats (BB4)
  • Real-time damping suspension chassis (F45) – Premium Luxury only
  • Performance suspension (FE5) – Premium Luxury Only (standard on Sport trim)

For the 2024 XT5 Premium Luxury, the Platinum Package was priced at $4,850 by itself, and was available in conjunction with two interior colorways, including Jet Black with Bronze Carbon Fiber trim (production code HMR) and Maple Sugar with Jet Black accents and Open Pore Elm Cluster wood trim (production code HMS). It must be equipped with the Technology Package (production code Y4N), which costs $2,275, and tri-zone automatic climate control (production code CJ4), priced at $1,200. Thus, the Platinum Package adds $8,325 to the overall cost of the luxury crossover.

For the 2024 XT5 Sport, the Platinum Package was priced at $3,650 on its own, and could be outfitted alongside both aforementioned interior colorways. It also required that the $2,275 Technology Package as well as tri-zone automatic climate control for $1,200 also be equipped. As such, the Platinum Package bumped the total cost of the 2024 XT5 Sport by $7,725.

The deletion of the package means that the content contained within the Platinum Package will no longer be available for the 2025 Cadillac XT5. However, the Real-time damping suspension chassis and Performance suspension remain standard on the 2025 XT5 Sport, and are are not available as upgrades for the 2025 XT5 Premium Luxury.

It’s important to note that this change only applies to the 2025 Cadillac XT5 in North America, which will be a carryover model from the 2024 model year. It does not extend to the all-new, second-gen Cadillac XT5, which will be offered exclusively in China.

  1. This is Bad News!!! The Platinum package really makes the XT5 feel luxurious and premium. I’ve had 2 Lux, Prem XT5’s with the Platinum package and loved them both. I currently have a 2024 XT6 Prem Lux with the Platinum Package it’s a great car/SUV/whatever…It’s comfortable and drives beautifully. And my friends love the Captain’s Chairs in the second row. PLEASE Cadillac don’t drop the Platinum Package from the XT6.

  2. Listen up Cadillac. Make up for doing this by offering the updated XT5 that the Chinese are getting back here in the USA. I can’t believe Cadillac keeps offering the outdated version of the XT5 in the USA. Now that Cadillac has come to its senses and will be offering ICE vehicles moving forward, start treating them with respect and UPDATE them.
