Some 2024 Cadillac CT4, CT5 Sedans Require Tie Rod Jam Nut Adjustment

Cadillac has issued a Service Update to resolve a potential issue in specific units of the 2024 Cadillac CT4 and 2025 Cadillac CT5 luxury sedans related to the tie rod jam nut.

This Service Update is tagged with N242440670, and specifies that affected units of the 2024 Cadillac CT4 and CT5 may have a condition in which the tie rod jam nut may be below torque specification. Thankfully, the fix is relatively simple, should take less than one hour to complete and does not require any additional parts. Dealers will perform a front wheel toe set alignment and ensure that both jam nuts are torqued to the proper spec, which is 59 pound-feet (80 Nm). The jam nut will be checked and torqued regardless of whether or not an alignment is performed.

Note that because this is a Service Update, rather than a recall, it will expire at the end of the vehicle’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty period. It is only applicable to the 2024 Cadillac CT4 and CT5, and does not impact any 2023 or 2024 model year vehicles.

As a reminder, both the CT4 and CT5 are built at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan. Production of the 2024 CT4 will wrap up at the end of May 2024 to make way for the 2025 Cadillac CT4, which will not feature any major changes or updates compared to the 2024 model year.

New for the Cadillac CT5 is a bit more exciting, as the 2025 model year brings sweeping changes to the luxury sedan. A revised front fascia is perhaps the most notable change, along with the completely overhauled interior. As previously reported by Cadillac Society, production of the refreshed CT5 will kick off in early May
