The Cadillac CT4 Can Tow (Here’s How Much)

While towing may not be at the top of the list of priorities for owners of the 2024 Cadillac CT4, the luxury sedan can, in fact, haul a modest amount with proper equipment. Below, Cadillac Society outlines the towing capacities for the 2024 Cadillac CT4.

First, let’s take a look at what powertrains are available for the 2024 CT4. The turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, is the standard engine on the Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels. Additionally, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 engine (production code L3B), rated at 310 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, is optional in the Premium Luxury model. The same engine makes 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque in the CT4-V. Finally, the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4), rated at 472 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, is standard in the CT4-V Blackwing.

Available transmission choices include the eight-speed automatic on models with the 2.0L turbo, 10-speed automatic on models with the 2.7L turbo or 3.6L twin-turbo, or the six-speed manual on the CT4-V Blackwing. Rear-wheel-drive is standard on all models, while all-wheel-drive is optional on all models except for the Blackwing.

The 2024 Cadillac CT4 Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport are the only trim levels that are rated to tow, and each can handle up to 1,000 points (454 kilograms). Note that the high-performance CT4-V and the ultra-high-performance CT4-V Blackwing are not rated to tow. In other words, the luxury marque does not recommend hauling with these models.

Additionally, it’s important to note that Cadillac does not offer a factory tow hitch option for the 2024 CT4, which means that owners must find a compatible hitch within the aftermarket. Additionally, the luxury marque recommends using 89 octane fuel or higher while towing with the CT4, as using a lower octane fuel may result in engine damage, which would not be covered under warranty.
