Cadillac Ranks Third In J.D. Power Winter 2024 U.S. Website Study

The J.D. Power Winter 2024 U.S. Website Study recognized Cadillac as having one of the best websites in the automotive industry, ranking the luxury marque third among its peers in the premium segment.

The semi-annual J.D. Power U.S. Manufacturer Website Evaluation Study examines customer satisfaction with automotive manufacturer websites while shopping for a new vehicle. The study evaluates responses that examine four key measures, including information and content; visual appeal; navigation; and speed. This particular study was synthesized using responses collected from 12,841 new-vehicle shoppers who indicated that they will be in the market for a new vehicle sometime in the next two years. Data was collected between October 2023 and December 2023.

Automakers were granted a score on a 1,000-point scale and ranked accordingly depending on segment. Cadillac earned a score of 737, placing it behind first-place Mercedes-Benz (751) and Tesla (749). Behind Cadillac, Land Rover and Lexus tied for fourth (736), while Acura (735) scored sixth-best, followed by Genesis (734), BMW (723) and Porsche (722), among others. Notably, Cadillac’s crosstown rival, Lincoln, was ranked near the bottom, having earned a score of 699 points. For reference, the average in the premium segment was 722.

“Previously, car manufacturers had difficulties showcasing the technological specifications for their EVs in an easily digestible way for shoppers,”J.D. Power Digital Solutions Director Eric McCready said. “Now, the tide has turned as the EV shopping experience has been elevated. Looking ahead, manufacturers that evenly distribute the focus and updates across all vehicle types will see higher satisfaction with vehicle shoppers.”

The study also notes that overall satisfaction with vehicle manufacturer websites didn’t really change, but customers reported improved satisfaction with websites while shopping for electric vehicles. In fact, industrywide, five of the six brands that received the most significant increase have a more substantial EV portfolio.
