The Cadillac Society Take

Cadillac Mexico sales experienced a new setback in September, expanding the luxury marque’s negative streak in the country. In fact, the performance represents the ninth consecutive month that Cadillac sales were in the red in the local market, meaning that sales have decreased every month so far this year.

This rather depressing performance is caused by a combination of factors that includes a limited lineup consisting of only three models, plus a decrease in the units sent to the Mexican market.

After experiencing a healthy increase in August, the Cadillac Escalade suffered another volume contraction in September, serving as the primary reason for brand’s overall decline. Sales of the iconic full-size luxury SUV decreased 16 units on an annual basis, almost exactly the same amount compared to the previous month’s record, when the Escalade recorded 75 deliveries in Mexico. Even so, the Escalade remains Cadillac’s best-selling model in the local market and throughout North America.

The Cadillac XT5 was the only one of the marque’s three models offered in Mexico to post a sales uptick in September, recording a double-digit improvement that translated to only three additional deliveries. Even so, it was able to lift up its year-to-date sales. Meanwhile, the new Cadillac Lyriq has not yet begun deliveries in Mexico.

  1. Cadillac will be down more if they do not fill those 2024 Lyriq Spt 3 and other orders.
