Cadillac Mexico sales decreased two percent to 86 units in August 2023 compared to August 2022.

During the first eight months of the 2023 calendar year, Cadillac Mexico sales decreased 18 percent to 766 units.

The slight drop in August continued the negative behavior of Cadillac Mexico sales, which becomes the eighth consecutive month that the luxury marque has been in the red in the Latin country. In other words, Cadillac sales have been been down every month so far in 2023. However, the rate of change was more mild than during previous months, causing the year-over-year volume to remain essentially flat at 86 units.
Curiously, the drop in Cadillac Mexico sales during August was not related to the performance of the best-selling Cadillac Escalade, whose sales results typically lead the way for the marque’s overall performance. Instead, the Escalade managed to score a double-digit increase during the month, making it the only Cadillac to be in the green during August, while further cementing the full-size luxury SUV as Cadillac’s most popular vehicle in Mexico.
By contrast, the Cadillac XT4 and XT5 suffered notable declines that negatively impacted the result for the brand as a whole. The result is that Cadillac saw 12 fewer deliveries on an annual basis, outweighing the 10 additional deliveries of the Escalade.
Additionally, pre-orders for the all-new Cadillac Lyriq officially opened in Mexico, and local deliveries are expected to begin in the coming weeks.
