Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Spy Shots Reveal Interior, Exterior Details

The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will soon receive a mid-cycle refresh, as first reported by Cadillac Society earlier this year. The impending enhancements will bring exterior styling updates along with a revamp of the cockpit. Our exlusive reporting was subsequently confirmed by a prototype we spied undergoing testing a few months back. Now, we’ve spotted another example making the rounds on public roads, giving us an even better idea of what’s coming down the line for the ultra-high-performance vehicle.

First things first: this particular Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing prototype is painted in Radiant Red Tintcoat (paint code GNT), and is mostly free of camouflage except for a wrap on the front end. That camo is hiding a revised front fascia, but it does little to obscure the headlight arrangement, which features a vertically-oriented LED projector arrangement, as opposed to a horizontally-arranged headlight cluster on the current pre-refresh model. The refreshed model also features a vertical strip of accent lighting that flows into the front fascia uninterrupted, again deviating from the current model’s broken up vertical signature.

As evidenced by the lack of camo, there aren’t any updates or changes applied to the vehicle’s profile. In a similar vein, the rear end is also unchanged, carrying the same design as the current model.

These photos also give us a glimpse of the updates in store for the refreshed Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing interior. Despite the driver’s attempts at covering up the dash, we can still see a large infotainment screen that dominates most of the vehicle’s dash. The new screen, which we already saw in a “regular”, non-Blackwing CT5 prototype, spans the instrument cluster and center stack, identical to that of the Cadillac Lyriq as well as the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4, aligning the ultra-high-performance sedan with the luxury marque’s latest interior design language.

The current Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is powered by the luxury marque’s supercharged 6.2L V8 (production code LT4) that’s tuned for 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. That powerhouse connects to either the standard six-speed manual transmission or the optional 10-speed automatic, delivering power exclusively to the rear wheels. The entire CT5 range rides on the Alpha 2 platform.

Initially, the impending mid-cycle refresh was expected to drop for the 2024 model year, but it’s more likely that it will debut as a 2025 model year vehicle, or perhaps 2024.5. Production of the 2024 model year will start July 10th at the Lansing Grand River plant.
