Cadillac has issued a recall for certain units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq luxury electric crossover to address an issue with improperly welded high-voltage battery connections.
The problem: affected units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq may have connections within the high-voltage battery pack that are not properly welded, or are otherwise out of position.
The hazards: if the high-voltage battery connections are not properly welded or otherwise incorrectly positioned, affected units of the Cadillac Lyriq may experience loss of drive power, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: a dealership technician will replace the incorrectly welded high-voltage battery packs with a new high-voltage battery pack. This procedure will be performed at no cost to 2023 Cadillac Lyriq owners.
Affected components: high-voltage battery pack.
Affected vehicles: 2023 Cadillac Lyriq.
Number of affected vehicles: Cadillac indicated that only four units of the 2023 Lyriq may be impacted by this issue.
Next steps: owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by mail with instructions to make an appointment with their preferred dealer to have this recall addressed. Notification letters will be mailed out beginning on July 10th, 2023.
