The 2025 Cadillac XT5 will represent a generational shift for the nameplate, featuring an all-new exterior design and interior environment to spice up the luxury crossover’s looks, comfort and performance. While this model will (unfortunately) only be offered in the Chinese market, Cadillac Society spotted a prototype of the forthcoming XT5 undergoing testing stateside, roughly three months after we caught another next-gen XT5 prototype.
Heavy camouflage conceals most of the 2025 Cadillac XT5, particularly heavy around the front fascia, doors, and rear end from spoiler to valance. Placeholder headlights are affixed to the front end, and while these aren’t indicative of the exact lighting elements that will make it to the production model, they give a good idea of how these lights will be arranged in a vertical orientation on either side of the grille. Speaking of the grille, we can see the new crosshatched mesh design behind a gap in the camo, which closely resembles that of the refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4.
However, this particular 2025 Cadillac XT5 prototype does feature one notable difference over the prototype we spied earlier: it has a new set of wheels that haven’t been seen previously, with multiple spokes arranged in six sections of three spokes, as opposed to the split-spoke design found on prior prototypes.
The 2025 Cadillac XT5 appears to be approximately the same size as the outgoing model, but its interior will receive a complete overhaul and will feature a large monitor spanning the instrument cluster to the center stack, much like the 2024 XT4.
The 2025 Cadillac XT5 will ride on the C1-2 platform and, according to our current intel, won’t be offered outside of China, where its development is taking. That being said, the 2024 Cadillac XT5 for the North American market will soldier on without any major changes over its predecessor before it is discontinued, with the model indirectly replaced by the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq.
