Just a few days ago, Cadillac Society exclusively reported on critical details regarding the forthcoming Cadillac Lyriq-V. Now, we’ve spotted a prototype of the high-performance luxury electric crossover, and these spy shots confirm that we were spot on about what’s in store for the Lyriq-V.
As we previously reported, the Cadillac Lyriq-V ups the ante when it comes to the Sport trim level, building on the sporty trim with even more aggressive exterior elements. As seen in these photos through the light camo, the forthcoming Lyriq-V will be outfitted with a unique front fascia to set it apart from its more approachable counterparts in the Lyriq line, complete with stylish diamond-style mesh affixed to the lower portion of the grille, which is similar to the grilles found on current V-Series models.
Unfortunately, we can’t speak to the unique LED pattern on the “grille” quite yet, as this prototype appears to have the digital (upper) grille turned off.
The Cadillac Lyriq-V prototype features all of the Sport trim level’s dark exterior accents, such as the window trim, grille and door handles. However, a closer look at the luxury crossover’s front end reveals that it differs from its “regular” Lyriq counterparts, featuring several characteristics that make it look a bit meaner.
This includes a unique front bumper lip that juts out from beneath the fascia, similar to a race car’s splitter. It rolls on a set of unique, sporty wheels that are not found on any other Lyriq variant. Out back, the rear fascia has been given a more aggressive treatment, with prominent styling lines leading from the outer corners of the bumper cover to the center.
While not visible in these spy shots, the Lyriq-V interior won’t be too different from the interior seen on current Lyriq models. However, our sources tell us that an exclusive colorway will be offered for the Lyriq-V, along with renditions of the V-Series “Racing Mondrian” insignia throughout the cabin.
As far as performance goes, the Cadillac Lyriq-V variant will harness larger, more powerful Ultium motors configured for a high-performance all-wheel-drive configuration. Power levels are currently murky, but they will certainly exceed that of the dual-motor AWD Lyriq, which, for reference, is rated at 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.
We’ll bring you details on the Cadillac Lyriq-V as soon as they surface. Until then, be sure to subscribe to Cadillac Society for Cadillac Lyriq news and to-the-minute Cadillac news coverage. We also invite you to join the latest discussions in our Cadillac forums and Cadillac Lyriq-V forum.
