Owners of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq can now have the Super Cruise and the Surround Vision System features activated through a new customer satisfaction campaign, Cadillac Society has learned.
First, some background: buyers of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq received the luxury electric crossover with non-functional Super Cruise (production code R6I) and Surround Vision System (production code R6X), even though both features were present with each model. However, in order to make these features functional, a software update was necessary.
This software update is now available, but it must be performed at a dealership, as it cannot be performed remotely via over-the-air (OTA). A technician will reprogram the image processing control module in order to facilitate Super Cruise and Surround Vision, thereby activating both features in the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq.
Super Cruise, which is the luxury marque’s semi-autonomous driver assistant, as well as Surround Vision, which provides a 360-degree “bird’s eye” view of the vehicle, were included as standard on the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition. These features were also included on the non-Debut Edition Luxury RWD and Luxury AWD variants for the 2023 model year.
Looking ahead at the 2024 Lyriq, HD Surround Vision (production code UXP) is optional on the new base Tech trim, while it is standard on all other higher end levels, including Sport and Luxury. Meanwhile, Super Cruise (production code UKL) is not offered on Tech, Luxury 1 or Sport 1 trim levels, while being standard on Luxury 2, Luxury 3, Sport 2 and Sport 3 trims.
2024 Cadillac Lyriq trim levels:
The Lyriq is underpinned by the BEV3 platform and is assembled at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for all markets except for China. It is currently offered with two powertrain options. The base single-motor setup features one Ultium motor mounted on the rear axle, lending 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque for an estimated 312 miles of driving range. The second is an AWD setup that adds a motor to the front axle, resulting in 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. A high-performance Lyriq-V model is expected in the near future.
