The Cadillac CT5 was recognized for its exemplary ability to hold its value through the years, picking up the J.D. Power 2023 Canada ALG Residual Value Award. This study evaluates which premium vehicles are more likely to retain the highest percentage of their original MSRP after three years, while mass market models are graded on a four-year period. The study is used to assess the total cost of vehicle ownership over time.
There are several factors that J.D. Power and ALG take into account when accruing results for this study, such as how competitive the vehicle is, its performance as as used vehicle, and whether its brand is perceived as moving in a positive direction. ALG then uses weighting in order to account for different trim levels and ensure they are properly represented in the final verdict.
The Cadillac CT5 earned the highest score in the premium segment in Canada, and was one of 15 vehicles out of 272 models evaluated from the 2023 model year to earn a category award. Its corporate cousin, the Cadillac Lyriq, was another vehicle that was recognized with a residual value award in the study. Meanwhile, Toyota and Lexus were recognized as being the top make-level performing brands.

As a reminder, the Cadillac CT5 350T is powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 (production code LSY), rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport trim levels. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (production code LGY) is optional on the CT5 Premium Luxury, where it makes 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, identifiable by the 550T badge on the decklid. Both engines bolt to Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission. Production occurs at the Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan for all markets except for China.
