Cadillac Lyriq Presented In The Middle East

Just two months ago, the Cadillac Lyriq electric luxury crossover began landing in small volumes at dealerships in the U.S. Prior to that, the all-new battery electric vehicle launched in China, a market where the luxury marque has enjoyed high levels of success over the past few years. Now, the Cadillac Lyriq has made its debut in the Middle East, paving the way for an all-electric future on the other side of the world.

Announced on September 1st, Cadillac confirmed that it would bring six electric vehicles to the Middle East by 2025, beginning with the Cadillac Lyriq. “Saudi Arabia and Cadillac have a long, illustrious history together and we are inspired to be able to continue this relationship into what will be a watershed moment for our industry and wider society,” said Kristian Aquilina, Managing Director of Cadillac International Operations and Cadillac Middle East.

When the Lyriq launches in the Middle East, it will feature a dual-motor configuration resulting in all-wheel-drive, boasting over 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. This setup is good for approximately 500 km, or 310 miles, of driving range from a single charge. High-speed fast DC charging is available at select charging stations, allowing for accelerated charging that adds 125 km of range, or 78 miles, in 10 minutes.

After the Lyriq Cadillac plans to roll out five other EV models in the Middle East by 2025.

“There is no doubt that the future is electric; the only questions that remain is when, and how?” said Rory Harvey, Vice President of Global Cadillac. “Innovation is in Cadillac’s DNA, and we have no doubt that we have the legacy and expertise to make it a closer reality for the people of Saudi Arabia. Not only that, but we are also making it extraordinary. By promising a completely new ownership and driving experience, we will redefine what we want and need from our luxury vehicles.”

  1. Alexandra, why have we not read any posts of actual Cadillac Lyriq owners and their reviews?

  2. Raymond, perhaps we should redirect our Lyriq “Forum” from Communist China or the Mid-East where the cars are being built.. and being delivered!?!
