2023 Cadillac Escalade Adaptive Beam Headlamps Currently Unavailable

As first reported by Cadillac Society earlier this month, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade will be the lucky recipient of Adaptive Beam Headlights. Unfortunately, we’ve now learned that the technology is not being included at the start of production.

Sources tell Cadillac Society that validation tests of the Adaptive Beam Headlight System are currently ongoing, and the technology has not yet been approved for sale in the U.S.

GM says the Adaptive Headlight System for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade utilizes a high-speed computer with a sophisticated algorithm that can scan the driver’s field of view over 30 times per second, altering the LED headlamp coverage based on the scanned vehicles, motorcycles, and pedestrians in the driver’s field of view. This tech allows the vehicle to automatically adjust the headlamp beam to prevent glare for oncoming drivers.

The 2023 Escalade represents the first model year during which the system has been available in the full-size luxury SUV. Prior to that, the feature was available to order on units of the 2022 Cadillac Escalade in the Canadian market, where ADB has been approved. Additionally, the technology has been approved for sale on vehicles in the European Union.

Pricing for the Adaptive Beam Headlamp System for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade in the U.S. has not been revealed. In Canada, it adds C$1,100 to the price of the Escalade, which will likely carry a price of just under $1,000 once it becomes available in the U.S.

Pricing for the 2023 Cadillac Escalade will start at $79,590 for the base Luxury trim with rear-wheel-drive, while the extended-length Escalade ESV will start at $82,590 for the base Luxury trim with rear-wheel-drive.

Production of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade commenced on July 18th at the Arlington plant in Texas.
