Cadillac Society has learned exactly when the 2023 Cadillac Escalade will begin rolling off the assembly line.
According to our sources, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade will begin production on July 18th, 2022 at the Arlington plant in Texas, where the full-size luxury SUV has been built since its introduction back in 1998. Moreover, 2023 will represent the third model year of the current fifth generation.
As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade continues to ride on the T1 vehicle platform and is offered with a choice of two engines for the “regular” model. The first is the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 gasoline engine (production code L87), capable of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on the Escalade and models with this motor wear the 600 badge on the liftgate. Meanwhile, the turbodiesel 3.0L I6 engine (production code LM2) is optional. It’s rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and models with this engine used the 600D badge out back. Both engines mate to Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission.
Joining the Escalade lineup for the 2023 model year is the all-new high-performance Cadillac Escalade-V, which features the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) that’s tuned to deliver a whopping 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, making it the most power Cadillac ever made. It is the first SUV to join the V-Series line of high-performance luxury vehicles, slotting in beside the CT4-V, CT5-V, CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing sedans.
Changes for the Escalade’s 2023 model year include a five new exterior paint color options, including Radiant Red Tintcoat, Argent Silver Metallic, Crystal White Tricoat and Dark Emerald Metallic. In addition, the 2023 model year will also add Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) headlights. Several other minor changes and updates will also be in store for the 2023 model year, and we’ll outline them shortly here at Cadillac Society.
Interestingly, the availability of Super Cruise was limited for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade due to the ongoing global microchip shortage. However, at this time, it’s not clear if the semi-autonomous driver assist feature will make a comeback for the 2023 model year, or if constraints will remain.
